FDIC Notice

Heartland Bank is participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.  Under that program, through June 30, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.  Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

HEARTLAND BANK PARTICIPATES WITH STUDENT LOAN PROGRAM

Heartland Bank is again participating in the Iowa Alliance Private Student Loan Program.  This private student loan is designed to supplement - not replace - federal, state and institutional financial aid to cover your expenses.  It is available to students attending any eligible Iowa college or university provided all other eligibility requirements are met.  Parents and students can stop by any of our offices to pick up a complete guide to filling out the online application.  Heartland Bank is one of nineteen participating lenders.

MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR FDIC GUARANTEE

How can you make sure all your deposits are safely protected with the the federal insurance limits during this unsettling time.  At Heartland Bank, we are participating in the FDIC's Transaction Account Guarantee Program.  Under that program, through December 31, 2009, all non-interest bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account.  This coverage is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC's general deposit insurance rules.

Understanding the rules for deposit insurance coverage can be confusing.   Congress has temporarily raised the basic deposit insurance coverage from at least $100,000 to at least $250,000 per depositer, through December 31, 2009.  If you would like more information as to whether your accounts are fully covered by the FDIC, you can visit www.fdic.gov/deposit/deposits for more information, or you may call any of our Customer Service Representatives at one of our four branches.
